Leaf Wetness Update - Feb 21, 2018
Last week’s slow moving storm system brought scattered rainfall and greatly elevated humidity for several days. Rainfall totals ranged from 0.01” at North Gila and YAC to 0.10” at Roll. The elevated humidity levels produced a minimum of three consecutive days of leaf wetness (Table 1). The day with the greatest number of hours of wetness was 15 February when all stations reported in excess of 10 hours.
Temperatures near ground level (Table 1) have remained above freezing during the past two weeks. Much cooler air is now in place and will likely produce subfreezing temperatures at ground level in the coming day or so.
