    A total of 25 surveys were completed of insecticide usage on desert lettuce, representing an estimated total of 44,180 fall acres and 37,720 spring lettuce acres from Yuma and neighboring Imperial County. This article concludes that the reduced risk insecticides will continue to play an increasing role in management of pests in desert lettuce.

    Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in Arizona cotton over the last 25 years has depended on the successful integration of biological and chemical controls along with other insect management knowledge and technologies. Contemporaneous measurement systems enabled economic evaluations with long-term datasets to examine economic outcomes and impacts, as well as durability of adopted technology.

    The diamondback moth is one of the most important pests of cole crops worldwide and annually causes $3-5 billion dollars in economic loses due to direct yield losses and control costs. 2016 Arizona had an outbreak. This article contains the results of surveys that tried to assess how much damage was done.

This article concludes that selective reduced risk insecticides will continue to play an increasing role in management of pests in desert lettuce, but some broad spectrum products such as pyrethroids still will be needed.
