The conference is a great opportunity for continuing education, professional development and awareness building; a day (or two) of engaging presentations and hands-on activity, for all persons involved with schools, childcare and similar facilities in Arizona; and anyone with an interest in ensuring safe, healthy learning and working environments.
Who can attend? Anyone with an interest in safe and effective pest management in schools, childcare and similar facilities, or anyone interested in our topics/schedule.
Typically our audience includes school and other administrative staff, maintenance and operations staff, grounds and landscape managers, teachers, principals, nurses, parents, and pest control technicians, food service staff, facility managers, superintendents, medical professionals, students, and many others.
Listen to talks by experts on various aspects of school IPM, share your experiences and questions, discuss strategies and find solutions to pest issues your school is facing. Give feedback on topics you would like to see in future events.
In-person: (Concluded).
Online: (Concluded).
The 7th Arizona School IPM Conference will have two options: In-person (live) and Online (pre-recorded).
The in-person option will be offered over two days, April 23rd and 24th 2024. Each day will have one track. Participants can choose to attend one or both tracks on consecutive days.
The online option will be offered from April 29th through May 31st, 2024. All content presented in the in-person event will be offered online, as in previous years. Links to the talks will be provided to all participants who register for the online option.
Participants can choose one of the two options, but the registration would only be valid for the option they chose.
Each class is approximately an hour (50-60 minutes).
The in-person events will occur from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on April 23rd and 24th 2024. Each day will provide one track consisting of 6 classes.
The tracks are not concurrent. So if a person attends Track 1 on one day, they could attend Track 2 on the second day. Full day attendance (6 hours) will be required to obtain full credit (6 CEUs) for a day or track.
The online event will be in the form of videos (approximately 60 minutes each) that participants can view at their convenience, and then complete the related quizzes (within the cutoff date - May 31st).
Participants in the in-person event will be required to sign in for the morning and afternoon sessions to meet their attendance requirement. Those needing CEUs will need to enter their license numbers on the sign in sheets.
Participants in the online event will be required to complete their quizzes to verify attendance. The quizzes have a space to provide names and license numbers for CEUs.
Please email nairs@arizona.edu for access to the content online.
Yes, all videos and quizzes are viewable on a smartphone.
Technically, multiple people can view the videos via a single computer and that’s a great idea. This could be done using a large meeting room or similar environment, and the talks could be projected on to a big screen.
However, if multiple attendees need CEUs, all of them must be registered and take the quizzes individually. Each attendee must provide their full names and license numbers.
PLEASE FOLLOW ALL ONGOING RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING SOCIAL DISTANCING AND SAFETY!
