This workshop is a follow-up to the August 2nd hands-on field day at the Ak-Chin Farms. The session will be dedicated to the review of commercial-scale research on implementation of predator thresholds for insect management and modified Lygus thresholds for ThryvOn cotton. The workshop will include updates and a discussion on the “real-world” results of the commercial-scale research conducted at the Ak-Chin Farms.

A comprehensive and inclusive session for PCAs that centers around ThryvOn
cotton, the progress and implementation of updated Lygus thresholds, and the exploration of successful strategies for preserving a balanced ecosystem. The aim is to safeguard natural enemies, foster thriving cotton growth, and optimize yield. This interactive session will include hands-on demonstrations and collaborative discussions.
The University of Arizona, in collaboration with the Arizona Pest Professional Organization, will host 2022 Southwest Rodent Academy, November 29th and 30th for pest management professionals and those who are interested in rodent management. This workshop is an in-person event at the Maricopa Agricultural Center, 37860 W. Smith-Enke Rd. Maricopa, AZ 85138. Same 6 AZ PMD CEU Hours will be provided each day. We are pleased to announce that we are conducting a workshop on “Industrial hemp production from planting to harvest” on September 9, 2019 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Yuma Ag Center. RSVP is mandatory, please email your name and affiliation to Dr. Bindu Poudel (bpoudel@email.arizona.edu) with subject line “Hemp Workshop”. The spot is limited to 2 representatives for each grower/company. If you can communicate within your company about who is attending, it will be very helpful for us as we have limited seats.
University of Arizona Cooperative Extension’s plant diagnostic lab at Yuma Ag Center is has been upgraded/modernized. Anyone from ag community including home growers are more than welcome to bring in their plant samples for diagnosis. If we cannot identify the problem with the resources we have, we will be more than happy to connect to the right resources.
Come enjoy tacos while touring the Yuma Plant Clinic and also learn about plant disease. This is the first time the Yuma Ag Center is opening their doors of their lab so you can see how they help local farmers and the community.
